Go for the Green!
Michigan State University carried on the torch to showcase Spartan Olympians and MSU pride during Homecoming Week, Friday, Sept. 26 to Saturday, Oct. 4. This year’s homecoming theme was Go for the Green! in honor of the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
The homecoming parade began at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 and featured the Spartan Marching Band, the MSU Alumni Marching Band, the MSU cheerleaders, MSU student organizations, Greek sororities and fraternities, East Lansing community groups, high school marching bands and more.
To help celebrate the 2008 Olympics, former MSU Olympians served as Grand Marshals.
Fans capped off the week's events on Saturday, Oct. 4 when the Spartans defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes in Spartan Stadium.
