The
Red and the Green
As the port side of the ship
is also known as the "red fire side"
in Chinese, the facilities in the port side cabin are red
in colour. These include all the mattresses on the beds as
well as the labels in the room. Similarly, the starboard
side is known as the "green fire
side", so the facilities in the starboard cabin are
green. There are nine beds in the port side cabin whereas
there are fifteen beds in the one on the starboard side.
Dormitories
The two dormitories are opposite each other with the kitchen
and the lavatory nearby. The bunk beds in the cabins are on
three levels because space is limited on the ship. The beds
may not be as big as the ones in your home, and you may not
get the chance to stretch your body the way you do on your
own bed, but the entirely new experiences gained and lessons
learned on the journey make it all worthwhile.
