Interview
with the Captain
Q1. Can we still join in these activities if we don't
know how to swim?
The activities are designed for people who know how to swim
and those who do not. Don't worry if you do not know how to
swim since in most of the activities, you have to wear a life
jacket, even if you can swim. For activities which do not
require students to wear a life jacket, there must be a coach
beside them, and therefore it is very safe.
Q2.
What can the participants learn from the activities? Also,
what has impressed you most about the students?
Young
people learn how to face various challenges themselves, as
well as learning how to interact with other people. Through
those seemingly difficult activities, they learn that they
can complete certain tasks, which, at first, they may worry
that they cannot achieve. It is a good way to establish self-dignity
and confidence.
Students
were afraid and had doubts before they went on board the ship
because things were new to them. But after the tour and training,
they did well, were confident and had happy smiles. That is
most impressive to me.
