Synopsis

Daniel is getting ready to go to Mexico to learn to surf with eleven other students. Surfing looks easy, and he loves Mexican food. See how he likes the big waves, hot chillies and sharks....

This is what happened to Daniel. How much of it did you remember?

Daniel flies from his home in Canada to Mexico.
He meets the surfing teachers and the 11 other students.
They learn about the surfboard first, then they learn to paddle.
They suit up and wax the boards and they are ready to go.
They try to surf, but it isn't easy!
A Mexican woman brings them breakfast tortillas every morning.
They eat lobsters fresh from the sea.
Daniel celebrates his birthday and everyone makes him a pinata.
Some of the boys go dune jumping.
After learning how to make Mexican food, they enjoy a big dinner at Coyote Cal's.
They go for a walk to find pools and sea creatures.
On the last night, they sit around the campfire and talk about the last two weeks.

Interesting facts about Daniel

Daniel lives in two countries. He lives half the time in Canada with his father and brothers, and half the time in Ireland with his mother and sisters. After his Mexico holidays, he became a vegetarian.

You can find out more about Daniel at the Road Scholars website.
