Here are some 'Yes/No' questions. In reported speech, we add 'if' or 'whether' to the sentence. E.g.

Does Naz like John? She asked if Naz liked John.

Is it raining? I asked whether it was raining.

Have you ever been to Japan? Simon wanted to know if I had ever been to Japan.

Can you swim? They asked if I could swim.
