Teachers are a large part of a student's
success and the Teacher Appreciation Committee works hard to see that teachers
get some of the THANKS they deserve. Members of Student Council adopt a
teacher and surprise the teacher with little treats. Also each month the
committee tries to do a little something special for the teachers.

Drug, alcohol, safety, and health awareness are
the focus for the DASH committee. Each month activities are planned to
help spread the message about being drug free and tobacco free. As part of
the effort to increase safety awareness at Liberty Eylau the "Don't be a Dum
Dum" project has been a success. In this activity student council members
reward students who are wearing their safety belts by giving them a Smarties
candy treat and give the ones not wearing a seatbelt a Dum Dum. During RED
RIBBON WEEK members plan spirit days stressing being drug free and help plan
"Drug Free Rallies."

Walker and Kyle Hall
Being proud to be an American and a
Leopard is the emphasis for the Pride and Patriotism Committee. In an
effort to promote pride for school, community, and country this committee is one
of the most active at Liberty-Eylau. Each week this committee organizes a
spirit day. At every football game and other sporting events members are
hard at work trying to encourage the participants and the audience. The
committee also works to make everyone aware of special American holidays and
helps with a voter registration drive.

The Energy Committee works to help
inform students, faculty, parents, and community members of the need
to conserve energy and preserve the environment. Ongoing projects include
a "Lights Out" day where teachers in the high school are encouraged to turn
out their lights to help cut energy costs. Other projects
the Energy Committee works on are campus clean-up days, community
clean-up days, and paper recycling.
