The Person I Respect Most

2007-12-12 00:21 by hke-004A18

In my daily life, I come across with many people whom I respect, like my parents, teachers and friends. But the person I respect most is Helen Keller although I do not know her in person.Helen was unlucky because she was blind and deaf when she was one year old. However, she did not give up. Her experience makes me feel that I am lucky. So, I should learn from her to be brave and diligent.

She was a lonely child because she could not see how wonderful the world was. In order to communicate with others. Helen tried hard to learn sight language and to speak and read Braille. When she grew up, she became a successful woman. I respect her and learn to have confidence in myself. We should not give up even when we face difficulties.

Although she had a lot of hard times, she also helped the disabled. She raised funds for building special schools and libraries for the blind and deaf. She also visited some disabled soldiers during the Second World War to encourage them. This was unbelievable.

The life of Helen Keller gave me courage, confidence and hope. I learned a lot from her and respect her most.

A day with fairies

2007-12-07 11:53 by hke-004A01

In one windy afternoon, I fell asleep when I was writing my Dairy. Suddenly, someone touched my shoulder and woke me up. Oh! I saw a fairy standing beside me. ¡°Audrey, come with me.¡± She said in a graceful voice. She held my hands and we flew out of the window.

She brought me to a castl
. The castle was a fairy castle and looked like the Disney castle. There were many fairies. Some were fat, some were slim, some were young and some were old. They welcomed me with a beautiful song.
The fairy brought me to the Lily Garden. There were colourful lilies, dancing butterflies, singing birds and a fantastic glittering fountain. We enjoyed my favourite food ¡°spaghetti¡± in the Garden. Then, the fairy brought me to the Wishing Well and granted me a wish. I told her I would like to see my parents. She said, ¡°Jump into the Wishing Well and all your dreams will pop out. Goodbye!”

I woke up and I saw a fairy sticker in my dairy.

New Web Tools ¨C wiki and blog

2007-12-03 16:01 by _Ðõ_

People always mention education 2.0, web 2.0, blog, wiki¡What are they? Recently, I have read a feature written by the British Council discussing on this issue. In the feature, it explains the features and functions on wiki and blog:

Wiki A wiki is a website that allows its visitors to write content collaboratively. The users of the site can edit the content, making changes to what has previously been written by other readers.

Blog A blog (or web log) is a website written by an individual or individuals which acts as a kind of online diary. Entries are posted chronologically, with the most recent at the top, and provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local events.

In addition, it provides samples to demonstrate how they can be used in the classroom and why so many educators are getting excited by the possibilities they offer.

Read it:

We could have more discussion later on. Maybe we could try some in our school.
